Patients recovering from surgery or illness, or living with a chronic condition, can receive skilled nursing care at home from licensed RNs and LVNs. Care may include wound care, IV therapy, injections, medication management, and clinical monitoring throughout the San Fernando Valley.
Eligible Medicare patients pay $0 for covered home health services.
What Is Skilled Nursing Care at Home?
Skilled nursing care at home allows patients to receive doctor-ordered medical treatment and monitoring where they live. An RN or LVN may provide wound care, IV therapy, injections, medication management, or health monitoring based on the patient’s plan of care.
Unlike non-medical home care, which helps with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and meals, skilled nursing addresses clinical needs that require a licensed nurse.

Who Skilled Nursing Is For
Skilled nursing at home may be appropriate when a patient needs medical care that can be delivered safely at home:
- Recovering from surgery, an injury, or a hospital stay
- Managing a chronic condition such as heart failure, COPD, or diabetes
- Needing complex care such as IV therapy, wound care, or catheter care
- For Medicare coverage, a doctor or other qualified provider must order the care, the patient must be homebound, and the patient must need part-time or intermittent skilled nursing or therapy. Eligibility is based on medical need, not income.
